Orthopaedic Surgery
SPOSC is designed for outpatient orthopaedic procedures that can be performed safely in an ambulatory setting. Your surgeon will determine whether the center is appropriate based on your procedure, medical history and recovery needs.
Joint Replacement
For appropriately selected patients, outpatient joint replacement can combine a focused surgical pathway with coordinated preparation, pain management, mobility planning and follow-up. Final eligibility is determined by the surgeon and anesthesia team.
Spine Care
Selected spine procedures may be performed on an outpatient basis. Patients receive procedure-specific instructions from the surgeon, including medication, activity, brace and follow-up requirements.
Pain Care
Selected interventional pain procedures may be offered to help diagnose or manage musculoskeletal and spine-related pain. Instructions vary by procedure and medication use.
Fracture Management
Outpatient fracture procedures may be appropriate when the injury, patient condition and expected recovery can be safely managed without an inpatient hospital stay.
Sports Medicine
Sports medicine procedures may address injuries involving cartilage, ligaments, tendons and joints. The goal is to support recovery, mobility and a safe return to activity under the surgeon's guidance.
Hand & Upper Extremity
Selected procedures involving the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder may be performed at SPOSC. Your surgeon will provide instructions about splints, slings, movement restrictions and therapy.
Foot & Ankle
Selected foot and ankle procedures may be performed on an outpatient basis. Patients should plan ahead for mobility aids, weight-bearing restrictions and transportation home.
Technology & Surgical Care
The surgical approach and equipment used for your procedure will be discussed with you by your surgeon and care team.
