The SPOSC facility bill
The facility bill covers the surgery-center resources used for your procedure, which may include the operating room, nursing services, supplies, equipment, medications administered by the facility and recovery services.
Why you may receive separate bills
Services involved in one procedure may be billed by different organizations. Depending on your care, you may receive separate bills from:
- The surgeon or physician practice
- The anesthesia professional or anesthesia group
- Pathology, laboratory or imaging providers
- Durable medical equipment suppliers
- Southern Pines Orthopaedic Surgery Center for the facility fee
Copays, deductibles and coinsurance
Your health plan determines how covered charges are divided between the plan and the patient. Any amount discussed before surgery is an estimate and may change after the claim is processed.
Payments and arrangements
For facility-bill questions and available payment options, contact SPOSC at (910) 725-6740. Invited patients can view estimates and statements in SIS Exchange, but payments cannot be made through SIS Exchange. Do not send credit-card information by email.
Billing FAQs
Is an estimate the final amount?
No. An estimate is based on available information before the claim is processed.
Does one payment cover every provider?
Not necessarily. The facility and professional providers may bill separately.
